Jazz saxophonist Wayne Shorter has been named the Artist-in-Residence for this year’s Detroit Jazz Festival.
The Grammy-winning musician will perform several times throughout the event, from September 1-4, 2017, organizers revealed on Saturday.
Shorter follows in the steps of greats like Ron Carter, Pat Metheny and Joshua Redman, who have also served as Artist-in-Residence at the festival.
According to Detroit News, new this year is an app for fan to stream every festival performance.
