Last month, Jaymz Bee returned to host the most renowned vocal showcase in Canada — and what a show it was.

Two dozen singers took the stage on May 23 for a One Stop Vocal Jazz Safari that brought together a range of styles and eras for an exuberant audience of our donors at Lula Lounge.

It was a mix of new and established talent, with performers including Alex Pangman, Steven Taetz, Heather Luckhart, Jessica Lalonde, Coco Brown, Naranie Tam, Caity Gyorgy, Heather Bambrick, John Finley, June Garber, John Amato, Avery Raquel and more. The night also featured Cuban jazz guru Bobby Carcassés as a special guest, along with his son Roberto.

Joel Visentin of organ-jazz trio JV’s Boogaloo Squad was the show’s musical director, and he led an accomplished backing band of Lauren Falls (bass), Ian Wright (drums) and Jacob Gorzhaltsan (sax, clarinet).
