Pat Metheny is planning to make a big return to live music.
The iconic jazz guitarist has just announced an international tour schedule of 100 concerts between September and next June, taking him across the U.S. and to Europe and the U.K. Unfortunately, it looks like fans in Canada will have to wait a bit longer.
Metheny will be joined on the road by keyboardist James Francies and drummer Joe Dyson.
Metheny will also release a new live recording called Side-Eye NYC on Sept. 10 on his new label BMG Modern Recordings.
Recorded just before the pandemic, Side-Eye NYC is a mix of new originals and inventive reworkings of some of Metheny’s most cherished compositions such as Timeline and Bright Size Life. The 20-time Grammy winner is accompanied by a rotating cast of players handpicked from the New York jazz scene.
