A previously unreleased recording of the Oscar Peterson Trio is being issued this year.
Mack Avenue is releasing the album titled On a Clear Day: The Oscar Peterson Trio – Live in Zurich, 1971, which captures the legendary Canadian pianist on a world tour stop in Switzerland.
Peterson is joined by bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen and drummer Louis Hayes in a rare trio configuration that never performed together again.
This album will be available as a double-LP vinyl set exclusively for Record Store Day’s Black Friday event on Nov. 25.
