As part of the yearlong celebrations of what would have been Nina Simone’s 90th birthday, Verve Records is releasing a newly discovered recording called You’ve Got to Learn that captures the iconic artist performing at the 1966 Newport Jazz Festival.
Simone performed six songs at the festival on July 2, 1966. Only recently was it discovered that the concert has been recorded.
