Monkey House returns to the scene with a brand new album, Crashbox, out now via Alma Records/Universal Music. It’s their ninth studio album and the follow-up to 2022’s Remember the Audio. The album is described as a “dynamic and sonically rich collection that blends jazz harmony with pop accessibility and rock energy.”

Active since 1992, the jazz-pop group led by EMMY award-winning singer-songwriter and pianist Don Breithaupt features the band’s long-standing lineup including Justin Abedin (guitar), Pat Kilbride (bass), and Mark Kelso (drums). Crashbox also features guest appearances from trumpeter Michael Leonhart from Steely Dan, Boz Scaggs guitarist Drew Zingg, and vocalists Michael Dunston and Selena Evangeline. The album is produced by longtime Monkey House producer Peter Cardinali.

Don joined Brad Barker in studio this past Wednesday to talk about the new album and the upcoming live album launch concert at Lula Lounge.
