The 2026 Polaris Music Prize Long List is here and award-winning singer-songwriter Dominique Fils-Aimé is once again nominated for her latest album, My World is The Sun.
This is the Montreal native’s fourth Polaris nomination since her 2023 album Our Roots Run Deep which was long listed for the 2024 Polaris Music Prize. The Album Long List, presented by Canada Council for the Arts, is where Polaris reveals the 40 nominated records that will be considered for a given year’s Prize.
The 2026 Polaris Long List was unveiled on June 11 with a special reveal event at NXNE’s ARTIST HOUSE at Toronto’s Centre For Social Innovation as part of the 2026 NXNE festival’s programming.
My World is the Sun is the second album in Fils-Aimé’s latest trilogy which picks up where Our Roots Run Deep as Fils-Aimé continues her quest for sonic, creative, and spiritual freedom.
According to the Polaris’ website, the Long List includes 13 first-time nominees as well as three past winners (Kaytranada, Tanya Tagaq and Dan Snaith) and two past Polaris Heritage Prize recipients (Beverly Glenn-Copeland and Peaches). In total, 202 albums were considered for the Long List by the 205 member jury this season.
