Bassist and composer Brian Bromberg returns with The Magic of Moonlight, adding another spirited, soulful recording to his extensive catalogue.
In his latest for Mack Avenue, Bromberg delivers a set of contemporary jazz tunes that put the emphasis on vibes, evoking “the shadow-cloaked mystery and twilight romance of an evening under the full moon.”
Accompanying the album’s announcement, Bromberg shared the lead single “Nico’s Groove,” which was written for guitarist Nick Colionne, who died on New Year’s Day in 2022 at age 55. Colionne had played on Bromberg’s previous album, 2021’s A Little Driving Music.
