JAZZ.FM91 announced that RBC has come back on board as the sponsor of Jazzology - one of the station’s most significant programs contributing to the achievement of its mandate to enrich the cultural, educational and community experience of their audience.

For the fourth consecutive year, RBC Royal Bank will provide funds to support this unique and vital radio program. Each week (Thursdays at 9:00 pm), Jazzology offers a forum for young musicians currently enrolled in post-secondary jazz programs in Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario, to discuss their influences, career aspirations and music with on-air host Heather Bambrick. As a result of its continued generous funding, RBC has enabled these talented students to access excellent exposure and to develop vital media skills.

On Monday, November 21st at 4:00 pm, Afternoon Drive host Brad Barker welcomed Richard Pereira, RBC’s Regional Vice President of Toronto West and JAZZ.FM91 President, Ross Porter on-air to discuss Jazzology and RBC’s generous support of the program. Brad and Ross recognized the extraordinary work that RBC Royal Bank has done for emerging artists in Toronto and across Canada.

“We are pleased that RBC has decided to renew their support of Jazzology for a fourth consecutive season. It is because of RBC’s Emerging Artists Program in support of Canadian artists that programs such as ours can continue to thrive. I’m grateful that we have a partner that continues to recognize the importance of investing in the future of jazz in Canada,” said Ross Porter, CEO and President, JAZZ.FM91.

“As a longstanding supporter of the arts, RBC is privileged to be able to support JAZZFM’s Jazzology program once again,” said Richard Pereira, regional vice president, RBC. “It’s always incredible to see just how much this program gives back to emerging artists, specifically upcoming jazz musicians. This donation is one small piece of our overall commitment to Canada’s emerging artists, and we look forward to watching the benefactors of Jazzology continue to grow their careers.”
