Oscar, Rob, Lenny and Gil: Canadian Jazz Legends

Oscar, Rob, Lenny and Gil: Canadian Jazz Legends is a brand new jazz appreciation course, designed for jazz enthusiasts who want to delve deeper into the music.

This brand new, 4-part course will explore the lives, music and legacies of four of Canada’s most accomplished and influential jazz greats. Unlike previous JAZZ.FM91 jazz appreciation courses which have been structured as historical surveys, each class of Oscar, Rob, Lenny and Gil will go deep into the worlds of specific jazz figures. Students will walk away with a rich understanding of these incredible musicians and their unique contributions to Canadian jazz.

We’re also proud to announce that instructor Jonathon Resney will be returning to the station to teach the course. Jonathon is a saxophonist and educator, who received his Masters in Jazz performance from McGill University. He has designed this completely new course in collaboration with JAZZ.FM 91 CEO, Ross Porter.

Taking place at JAZZ.FM91 in Liberty Village, this 4-session, evening course will meet for two hours weekly. JAZZ.FM91 donors are offered early enrollment and discounted fees.
