Jocelyn Gould and Melody Diachun are among the nominees for the 2023 Western Canadian Music Awards.
Both are nominated for jazz artist of the year, alongside Chris Andrew, the Up and Over Trio, and the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra.
JazzYYC, a group that promotes and supports jazz in Calgary, is nominated for the award for impact in live music, sponsored by the Canadian Live Music Association. The other nominees were Yellowknife’s Folk on the Rocks, Calgary’s National Music Centre, and Winnipeg’s Paquin Artists Agency and West End Cultural Centre.
Among the other nominees are Dee Daniels for spiritual artist of the year and Jill Barber for roots artist of the year.
