Chick Corea, Joe Lovano, Bill Frisell, Christian McBride and many others will take part in Live From Our Living Rooms, a virtual jazz festival running April 1-7.
The series of live-streamed concerts is a fundraising effort for New York musicians whose ability to work has been prevented by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fans can access the performances online and will have the opportunity to donate toward emergency relief for musicians.
The festival is organized by New York musicians Sirintip, Thana Alexa and Owen Broder in coordination with nonprofit partner Music Talks, a promotional platform for independent artists.
“During a crisis that has affected us all globally, it is more important than ever to have a platform that fosters creative exchange and a way to stay connected and inspired through music,” the organizers told Rolling Stone.
The musicians will be performing either by themselves or in small groups who live under the same roof, such as the husband-and-wife duos of Christian McBride and Melissa Walker, Joe Lovano and Judi Silvano, Linda May Han Oh and Fabian Almazan, and Antonio Sanchez and Thana Alexa.
The seven-day festival features four performances a day. The daily schedule consists of a children’s program at 11:30 a.m., a master class at 3 p.m. and two headlining shows at 7 and 8 p.m.
