The Toronto Women’s Blues Revue returns to Roy Thomson Hall on November 28

The Toronto Blues Society and Roy Thomson Hall presents the 38th edition of the Toronto Women’s Blues Revue taking place on Friday November 28, celebrating some of Canada’s best female blues artists.
Canada’s Queen of Rock & Soul Shakura S’Aida makes a grand return to this year’s edition as host and performer. Joining her is an incredible lineup of Canada’s best in blues including Jackie Richardson, Cheryl Lescom, Celeigh Cardinal, Joce Reyome and Angelica Jones. Toronto Blues Society Chair Quisha Wint returns as Producer for the 38th edition.
This year’s All-Star Women’s Blues Revue Band features 2024 Discover Women in Jazz participant Elena Kapeleris, Carrie Chesnutt, Tara Kannangara, Alison Young, Angelique Francis, Emily Burgess, Jasmine Jones-Ball and Jenie Thai.
S’Aida and Richardson stopped by jazz.fm91 back in May to promote On Their Shoulders, a celebration honouring Black Canadian musical legends who have made an impact in the Toronto Music Scene.

Founded in 1985 by blues enthusiasts David Barnard, John Valenteyn and Derek Andrews at the legendary blues club Albert’s Hall at Brunswick House, The Toronto Blues Society is dedicated to the preservation and stability of blues music in the city through events such as The Maple Blues Awards, education programs like Blues in the Schools and their monthly newsletter Maple Blues Newsletter. 2025 marks the organization’s 40th anniversary, preserving and amplifying blues music in the city of Toronto.
For nearly four decades, the Annual Women’s Blues Revue has celebrated the voices, stories, resilience, artistry and enduring power of women in blues. Past performers have included Kellylee Evans, Molly Johnson, Holly Cole, Colleen Allen, Serena Ryder, Divine Brown, Carole Pope, Tanika Charles, Amanda Marshall, Dione Taylor, Crystal Shawanda, Angelique Francis, Dawn Tyler Watson, Diana Brathwaite and many more.
