The Toronto Blues Society and Massey Hall presents the 37th edition of the Toronto Women’s Blues Revue taking place on November 29, celebrating some of the Canada’s best female blues artists.
This year’s lineup features Crystal Shawanda, Kellylee Evans, Tanika Charles, Meghan Parnell, Diana Braithwaite, & Rebecca Hennessy. New to this year’s show is local programmer and newly-minted Chair of the Toronto Blues Society Quisha Wint who serves as the Producer and Host for the 37th edition. Wint succeeds Derek Andrews, who stepped down earlier this summer after 39 years of leadership.
The 2024 All-Star Women’s Blues Revue Band features Alison Young, Angelique Francis, Carrie Chesnutt, Dale Anne Brendon, Emily Burgess, Jenie Thai, Marie Goudy and Selena Evangeline with Discover Women in Jazz’s Elena Kapeleris as bandleader.
Founded in 1985 by blues enthusiasts David Barnard, John Valenteyn and Derek Andrews at the legendary blues club Albert’s Hall at Brunswick House, The Toronto Blues Society is dedicated to the preservation and stability of blues music in the city through events such as The Maple Blues Awards, education programs like Blues in the Schools and their monthly newsletter Maple Blues Newsletter.
Past performers have included Amanda Marshall, Carole Pope, Lee Aaron, Divine Brown, Shakura S’Aida and many more.
