Molly Johnson, Mark Guiliana, The Bad Plus, and the Pedrito Martinez Group are among the newly announced additions to the 2023 edition of the TD Toronto Jazz Festival.
After an initial announcement in March, the festival has now revealed the full lineup which includes more than 100 performances between June 23 and July 2.
Among the other new additions are the Ostara Project, Theon Cross, Jesse Ryan, Joy Lapps, Kollage, Mark Kelso & The Jazz Exiles, the Toronto Mass Choir, the Allison Au Quartet, the Debi Botos Quintet, the Michael Shand Trio, the Nicky Schrire Quintet, the Nimmons Tribute Band, the Ross Wooldridge Septet, the Robert Lee Group, The Altons, Begonia and Jonah Yano.
The headliners of this year’s festival include Herbie Hancock, George Benson, Snarky Puppy, Melody Gardot, Brad Mehldau and Avishai Cohen.
The lineup also features high-profile performances by R&B artists Ashanti and LOONY as well as fusion group BADBADNOTGOOD and rapper Haviah Mighty.
“The TD Toronto Jazz Festival has always been a celebration of the diversity and richness of jazz and jazz-related music, so we’re especially excited about this year’s lineup,” said Josh Grossman, the festival’s artistic director. “We invite music fans from at home and abroad to join us and experience some of the best musicians from Toronto, across Canada and around the world.”
