Herbie Hancock, George Benson, Snarky Puppy, Melody Gardot, Brad Mehldau and Avishai Cohen are among the headliners of the 2023 TD Toronto Jazz Festival.
The festival will also include high-profile performances by R&B artists Ashanti and LOONY as well as fusion group BADBADNOTGOOD and rapper Haviah Mighty.
The festival runs June 23 to July 2 with 10 days of free outdoor programming — including more than 100 free performances — plus a selection of ticketed concerts.
It begins with an opening-night party presented by OLG and featuring Juno winner Jully Black. The performances to follow will also include Cimafunk, the Anomalie Big Band, Braxton Cook, Kokoroko, Colin Stetson, Tanika Charles and many more to be announced, including an emphasis on Toronto-based talent.
“The TD Toronto Jazz Festival has always been a celebration of the diversity and richness of jazz and jazz-related music, so we’re especially excited about this year’s lineup,” says Josh Grossman, the festival’s artistic director. “We invite music fans from at home and abroad to join us and experience some of the best musicians from Toronto, across Canada and around the world.”
