Born and raised in the Philippines, Solomon Pugay is a young, excellent and versatile guitar player specializing in Jazz, Gospel, OPM (Original Pilipino Music) and R&B. He immigrated to Toronto, Canada in May of 2016 at the age of 14 and discovered his passion for music in 2017 after learning the guitar.

In 2021, Solomon decided to pursue this passion by applying to the Music program in York University. He studied guitar with jazz guitarists such as Roy Patterson and Brian Katz, and has been in jazz workshops with Lorne Lofsky, Kelly Jefferson and Sundar Viswanathan. As a late bloomer, he has shown exceptional improvement throughout his years being in the Jazz program at York University and is currently trying to find his own sound by fusing Filipino music and jazz.
