Racha Moukalled has been a self-taught piano player since the age of eight in Tripoli, Lebanon. After moving to Canada at age 16, she pursued her love of music by taking classes in high school and learning from mentors all around. After discovering jazz music, she auditioned for York University’s jazz piano performance program. Racha studied with Mark Eisenman, Kevin Turcott, Lorn Lofsky and Casey Sokol, from whom she also found her love of various genres like classical, romantic music and free improvisation. She aspires to be a successful musician in Toronto, playing with various ensembles and teaching. She is currently doubling on the vibraphone and has studied with Michael Davidson and Dan McCarthy.
