The Nick Maclean Quartet have shared their new single Road Warrior, offering the first taste of their upcoming album.
Led by fast-rising Toronto pianist Nick Maclean, the foursome performs a “joyous, fast-paced” original composition that was inspired by their time on the road amid pandemics, blizzards and vehicle breakdowns.

The song will appear on the group’s second full-length album Convergence, due to be released later this year.
Maclean is an eight-time Global Music Award winner, a Toronto Independent Music Award winner, and alumnus of JAZZ.FM91’s Jazzology program who has become one of the most in-demand young jazz piano players in Toronto.
Brownman Ali has been heralded as “Canada’s preeminent jazz trumpet player” by The Village Voice. The veteran musician is best known globally as the last trumpet player for hip-hop artist Guru’s widely acclaimed Jazzmatazz project.
The quartet is rounded out by bassist Ben Duff and drummer Jacob Wutzke.
The group’s sound is noticeably influenced by post-bop greats like Herbie Hancock, Miles Davis and Freddie Hubbard while also being staunchly committed to the evolution of jazz today.
