After teasing new music for the past year, Molly Johnson has announced the release of her upcoming studio album, Talk to Me, coming out on June 26 via Universal Music Canada.

The new album combines music from Johnson’s most recent EPs, 2025’s All I See and Long Time Running, released this past April plus four brand new songs. The project is a reflection of the musical journey Johnson has embarked on for the last couple of years, keeping true to her signature musical style while incorporating and embracing new approaches to soul, jazz, R&B and rock.

Guest appearances include emerging producer CUBE, award-winning rapper Haviah Mighty and longtime friend and Canadian rock legend Jim Cuddy of Blue Rodeo who joins her on their reimagining of The Tragically Hip’s “Long Time Running.”

“This has been a long time coming,” says Johnson. “I’ve always wanted to record a duet with Jim. We’ve been friends for years, so to finally collaborate on a song by our beloved The Tragically Hip feels like real magic.”

Joining Johnson on this new album are her longtime band consisting of drummer Davide Di Renzo, bassist Mike Downes and pianist Robi Botos, making up the ultimate trifecta showing case the best in Canadian jazz today. But even as she stays true to her roots, Johnson embraces the future with her work with the next generation of artists such as CUBE and Haviah Mighty. “I really believe we need to listen to younger voices, and I feel so excited that I get to be part of this new generation of music,” she says. “The future looks bright to me.”

Preceding the release is the single, “Holiday,” available now. Talk to Me comes out June 26 on all streaming platforms and wherever music is sold. To support the release of the project, Johnson will be making appearances at the TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival on June 17, Festival international de jazz de Montréal on June 26 and Théâtre Antique in Vienne, France on July 1.
