Bassist Michael League and pianist Bill Laurance have paired up for a duo album called Where You Wish You Were.
The new recording is a change of pace from their work with the Grammy-winning jazz-fusion ensemble Snarky Puppy.
Watch the live video of the duo playing Sant Esteve:
Recorded at League’s home studio in the Spanish region of Catalonia, the album features Laurance on piano and League on oud, acoustic bass, fretless baritone electric guitar, ngoni and vocals. The 11-song set of original music co-written by both musicians explore worldly jazz sounds heavily influenced by Asian and Mediterranean music.
