Steve Marriner leads the way in Maple Blues Awards nominations
The nominees for the 25th annual Maple Blues Awards have been announced, and Steve Marriner leads the way with seven nominations. Sue Foley follows close behind with five nominations, as well as Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar with four. Other artists with multiple nominations include David Gogo, Colin James, Harrison Kennedy, Jack DeKeyzer, Colin Linden, Dawn Tyler Watson and Rick Fines. Presented by the Toronto Blues Society, the Maple Blues Awards are Canada’s biggest night in blues. This year’s winners will be announced at the awards show at Koerner Hall in Toronto on Jan. 31, 2022. Nominees are selected by a panel of 53 experts, including radio hosts, journalists and festival organizers across Canada. The winners of the six instrumental categories are determined by the nominating panel, while the other 10 award winners will be selected by blues fans, who can cast their votes at until Dec. 1.
