Lucas Dubovik is a Vancouver-born saxophonist and composer. Since moving to Toronto in 2017 to study music at Humber College, he has established himself as an exciting and daring young musician.

Dubovik has had the opportunity to be associated with multiple bands and projects in various capacities, including both permanent and freelance roles. He continues to explore new ideas, new ways of playing and to incorporate new concepts in his music. With jazz being the primary focus, Dubovik is known for his ability to improvise and compose in several genres and styles of music.

Dubovik was fortunate to study under the tutelage of some of Canada’s finest saxophonists, Kirk MacDonald and Alex Dean. He is continuously developing his musical abilities while taking inspiration from a wide variety of musical influences. He continues to perform at various venues as a bandleader and as a sideman and he leads his own quintet.

Dubovik is currently working on his debut album, which is scheduled to be released in late 2021.
