TD Toronto Jazz Festival presents: Herbie Hancock at Meridian Hall
- This event has passed.
A true icon of modern music, Herbie Hancock’s illustrious career spans five decades and 14 Grammy Awards. Hancock’s best-known compositions include the jazz standards “Cantaloupe Island”, “Watermelon Man”, “Maiden Voyage”, and “Chameleon”, but his influence on acoustic and electronic jazz and R&B is incomparable. Hancock’s 2007 tribute album “River: The Joni Letters” won the 2008 Grammy Award for Album of the Year, becoming the second jazz album ever to win the award after Getz/Gilberto in 1965. Now in the fifth decade of his career, Hancock continues to push the limits and definitions of jazz and pop.
