The Jazz Bistro presents Toronto’s newest and most authentic Ska music Group: SKAFIRE. Founded and led by Jamaican Canadian guitarist Maurice Gordon along with Meirion Kelley on trombone, Michael Kennedy on bass, Austin Rowe Jr. on drums and Koriq on piano. It will be an exciting evening of Jamaican Jazz and dance music in the tradition of the world’s greatest Ska band: The SKATALITES. Ska was the most popular music in Jamaica in the 60’s and continues their legacy and will be celebrating their 60th anniversary next year. Skafire is here to continue this blazing fire tradition of this great music right here in the great White North.
