Billie Holiday seems to have recorded every great song in the Jazz canon. From “Am I Blue?” to “Baby Get Lost” to “You Turned the Tables on Me.” Inspired by her brilliance, emotional honesty and unique brand of musicality, I’m one of the throngs of Billie-devoted jazz vocalists who love to sing the songs she sang. I’m also fascinated by how much we don’t know about Billie’s emotional life, and how we might understand her loves, losses and longings. We’ll be at the wonderful 120 Diner, where the food is fabulous, drinks are delicious, and the staff superb.
