JAZZ.FM91 presents another International Jazz Safari to Cuba, in partnership with Sunwing. But this time we are — for the first time ever — going to Holguin and Santiago de Cuba.
On this safari, we’ll head to the Paradisus Rio de Oro Resort and Spa in lovely Holguin for four days of sun, sand, sea and nightlife, before heading to Santiago de Cuba, home of Afro-Cuban music and a unique culture in an already unique part of the world. There, we’ll stay at Melia Santiago de Cuba, a resort surrounded by natural wonders and urban delights right in the city centre.
This safari is guided by Jane Bunnett and Larry Cramer, two artists who have spent decades steeped in Cuba and its vibrant music and culture.
“Santiago de Cuba is the most musically rich city in Cuba. Every corner you turn, there will be a group rehearsing or playing,” says Bunnett. “It’s spectacular. We love Cuba because there’s just this abundance of culture. It’s in your face all day long.”
You don’t want to miss out on this trip. (Plus: Read more about Cuban music and culture in this New York Times article.)
