Jazz Sundays at the Vista: Ben Frost Trio

New this year, the Vista Eatery has turned into a weekly live music venue for emerging jazz musicians from across Ontario to perform on our waterfront patio! These musicians are students or recent grads from University of Toronto, York University, Humber College and Mohawk College. The program will provide these musicians the opportunity to gain experience, develop their audiences, network with fellow musicians and industry professionals and perform in one of the few venues in the city that features live jazz music.

The program is co-curated and hosted by Robert Missen, who has had a long and distinguished career in the Canadian performing arts as artist manager, agent, producer and promoter. Robert has worked with some of Canada’s most notable performers and has a real passion and ability to nurture and showcase musical talent.

This Sunday: Ben Frost Trio

Ben Frost is a trumpet player and composer from Vancouver, British Columbia now based in Toronto. Ben has just completed a Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies at the University of Toronto where he studied with Jim Lewis, Chase Sanborn, Terry Promane and Andrew Downing. Frequently playing at established venues in both Vancouver and Toronto, Ben has also performed at major Canadian festivals including the Vancouver International Jazz Festival and the TD Ottawa Jazz Festival.
