Toronto, ON – Jaymz Bee, renowned for his 22-year legacy with JAZZ.FM91, is bidding a heartfelt farewell with a special benefit concert at Koerner Hall on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Following an illustrious career producing concerts, hosting radio shows, and guiding international jazz tours, Bee is now dedicating his efforts to his burgeoning film career, which includes three award-winning short films and an upcoming feature film.
This memorable evening is designed to express Bee’s gratitude to JAZZ.FM91 for two decades of musical magic and to support the station. The concert will feature a dazzling lineup of performers and a celebration of jazz’s vibrant spirit.
Highlights of the Evening:
- Genevieve Marentette will showcase her latest album, “Songs of ’69,” with a special set that blends classic jazz and contemporary flair.
- The night will open with “Music for Secret Agents,” featuring a tribute to James Bond and other iconic tunes. Singers on the opening set include Irene Torres, Adam James, John Finley, Serafin LaRiviere, Gavin Hope, Simone Denny, and Queen Pepper.
- The house band includes notable musicians: Michael Shand (piano), Eric St-Laurent (guitar), George Koller (bass), Ben Wittman (drums), Alison Young (saxophone), and Bill McBirnie (flute).
Tickets are available from $30 to $120 plus service charges and can be purchased directly from Koerner Hall. All proceeds will benefit JAZZ.FM91, a cherished radio station and registered charity.
