International Jazz & Blues Safari to Chicago

June 8, 2018June 10, 2018

JAZZ.FM91 presents an International Jazz Safari that takes you to the city that has made its mark on jazz and the blues. The city that’s home to Muddy Waters and Nat ‘King’ Cole … and so many other great artists.

Next on our travels…The JAZZ.FM91 International Jazz & Blues Safari to Chicago in partnership with CAA – Our Official Travel Insurance Provider. From June 8th–10th, 2018 explore the heritage, architecture, and music during The Chicago Blues Festival as musicians can be found throughout the windy city.

You’ll stay at the Millennium Knickerbocker Chicago for two nights. Built in 1927, the Millennium Knickerbocker Chicago has a colourful history. Al Capone’s brother once ran a casino on the Penthouse Floor, and the hotel has housed such luminaries as John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon and the Rolling Stones. One of the Best Chicago hotels off the Magnificent Mile, it’s an easy walk to 360 Chicago and the Museum of Contemporary Art. A landmark in its own right, the Millennium Knickerbocker Chicago has 306 guest rooms, including the iconic Crystal Ballroom complete with illuminated dance floor and gold-gilded domed ceiling.

The 2018 Chicago Blues Festival will take over Millennium Park with 5 stages celebrating the blues! The largest free blues festival in the world, this festival remains the largest of Chicago’s Music Festivals. Since 1984, one year following the death of blues icon Muddy Waters, this important Chicago institution celebrates an important part of the city’s heritage and highlights the musicians who live their lives playing and singing the blues.

Together with Jaymz Bee you’ll explore some of Chicago’s key music destinations possibly visiting the Jazz Showcase, Andy’s Jazz Bar, The Green Mill, or Kingston Mines.
