Genevieve “Gigi” Marentette presents Songs of ’69 Album Launch

Toronto-based singer Genevieve Marentette, aka Gigi, is set to release her first LP, Songs of ’69 Volume 1, on October 16th at Koerner Hall. 

The album features Michael Shand on piano, Eric St-Laurent on guitars, Ben Wittman on drums, George Koller on bass, and Alison Young on saxophone on popular classics like “Leaving on a Jet Plane” and “These Eyes” and some rarely covered songs such as “Easy to Be Hard” and “I Talk to the Wind.”

The concert is a celebration of Jaymz Bee’s 22 years as a DJ at JAZZFM.91. It will open with a set of “Music For Secret Agents” featuring Simone Denny, Gavin Hope, Irene Torres, Adam James, John Finley, Serafin LaRiviere and Queen Pepper (Mary), as a thank you to JAZZ.FM91, all proceeds of the concert will benefit the station.
