Emilie-Claire Barlow — at 42 her youthful energy and appearance bely a 20 year career at the highest levels of jazz recording and performance.
Recording her first album at the age of 22, Emilie-Claire now has 12 albums to her credit, many of which have been honoured with award nomination including wins of Adisq and Juno Awards. Never one to rest on past accomplishments Ms. Barlow continues to grow as an artist and numerous tours across the globe have honed her stage presence and voice to a peak of control and expression — wowing audiences with a combination of vocal prowess and a relaxed energy.
Emilie-Claire has spent the last 20 years in search of her “perfect band” and her current line up is a stunning selection of Canada’s finest musicians. Each one of them is an artist in their own right making virtuosity look easy night after night. Additionally Ms. Barlow has discovered a Montreal based string quartet that will embellish Emilie-Claire’s beautiful arrangements their luscious sound on select engagements.
