Kai Gaboury is a musician and composer born in Edmonton, Alberta, and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. His love for music developed when he started playing tenor saxophone in school at age 12, leading him to discover jazz. He is currently finishing his final year in Humber Polytechnic’s Bachelor of Music program, where he also works as an assistant at their Gordon Wragg Recording Studio.
Kai’s musical voice is shaped by the music of Sonny Rollins & Joe Henderson, as well as numerous musicians on Tokyo’s jazz scene including May Inoue, Shun Ishiwaka, and more. Now based in Toronto, Ontario, he performs regularly in a variety of projects as a freelance musician.
