JUNO week is officially here and we’ve got you covered on all the jazz, blues and roots nominees!
Among the jazz nominees this year include Renee Rosnes, Justin Gray, Shuffle Demons, Laura Anglade, Caity Gyorgy and more.
Two alumni from our Discover Women in Jazz concert series garnered nominations for the first time, Ale Nunez (2024) for Jazz Vocal Album of the year for her debut EP, Under The Lemon Tree and Aretha Tillotson (2025) for Jazz Album of the Year (Solo) for her sophomore effort, Kinda Out West.
In a historic first, this year’s nominations include a new category, Latin Music Recording of the Year, celebrating the Canadian perspective in Latin music both locally and globally. The inaugural nominees include two-time winner JUNO winner Alex Cuba, Lido Pimienta, Andy Rubal, Isabella Lovestory, and Mario Puglia.
Justin Bieber and Tate McRae lead the nominations with six nominations each, making history by receiving the most nominations in a single JUNO awards season. Following Bieber and McRae are The Weeknd and singer-songwriter Cameron Whitcomb who have five nominations each.
This year’s honorees include ten-time JUNO winner Nelly Furtado, who will be inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Other honorees include R&B singer-songwriter Daniel Caesar who will receive the International Achievement Award, punk-rock group Billy Talent who will receive the 2026 Humanitarian Award and Joni Mitchell who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The 55th annual JUNO Awards will be held at the TD Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario on Sunday March 29, hosted by actor, comedian and Toronto native Mae Martin. The ceremony will be broadcasted across Canada and streamed live globally. Tickets to attend the ceremony in person are on sale now for the general public at www.ticketmaster.ca/junos.
