Jon Batiste is back with new music with the release of his first classical solo piano album and eighth studio album overall, Beethoven Blues, out on November 15 via Interscope Records.

The new album from 5x GRAMMY and Oscar winner is a modern-day reimagining of Ludwig van Beethoven’s legendary music mixed with original compositions inspired by Batiste’s youth in New Orleans as a burgeoning young musician participating in local piano competitions.

“Since childhood, I’ve made a practice of interpolating classical piano music as if it were my own,” Batiste expressed in an Instagram post. ” I was often drawn to be in conversation with Beethoven’s music.” The album announcement was followed by the release of  first single off the project, Für Elise-Batiste. Batiste most recently completely the film score and soundtrack for the movie Saturday Night, the biographical comedy-drama about the 1975 premiere of NBC’s Saturday Night Live, in which he also played the role of singer-songwriter Billy Preston in the film. He also appeared as a special guest caller during JAZZ.FM91’s 24 Hours Live! Event back in July.

Beethoven Blues comes out November 15 wherever music is sold.
