Jill Barber is embarking on an old jazz tradition by releasing her first Holiday album in time for the Christmas season. A Holly Jolly Jill Barber Christmas is Barber’s twelfth studio album and her latest release since 2024’s Encore.
Produced and arranged by GRAMMY-nominated producer and composer Drew Jurecka, the album is a collection of favourite holiday classics such as “Sleigh Ride,” “I’ll Be Home for Christmas,” and “Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer” performed as a duet featuring her brother, singer-songwriter Matthew Barber. Performing alongside Barber on the album include Ewen Farncombe on piano, Davide Direnzo on drums, Nathan Hiltz on guitar and Chris Banks on bass. A Holly Jolly Jill Barber Christmas also includes two original songs written by Barber.
Barber wrapped up her A Holly Jolly Jill Barber Christmas tour across Canada which kicked off in Toronto on November 27 and ended in Halifax on December 10.
A Holly Jolly Jill Barber Christmas is available now on all streaming platforms as well as on CD and vinyl on Bandcamp.
