One of Canada’s most sought-after jazz bands, the Jeremy Ledbetter Trio, returns to the scene with their sophomore album Gravity, the follow-up to their 2018 debut album, Got A Light?, released in 2018. The trio consists of JUNO award-winning pianist, composer and producer Jeremy Ledbetter, award-winning bassist and host of JAZZ.FM91’s New Origins Rich Brown and GRAMMY-award winning drummer from Snarky Puppy Larnell Lewis. Collectively, the trio brings over 40 years experiencing of electrifying music-making across many genres, establishing them as one of the best in the contemporary jazz today.
The album is described as “a high-powered set of new original music, brimming with fresh ideas and the jaw-dropping virtuosity and musicality of Ledbetter on piano with Brown (electric bass) and Lewis (drums).” An eclectic mix of calypso, latin, contemporary jazz and other Caribbean flavours, Gravity brings together the best musicians in Canadian jazz right now.
