Celebrated pianist Jeremy Ledbetter has been described as a “wildly fiery, passionate performer whose music knows no boundaries.” Now, his artistry is being recognized as he celebrates his first JUNO nomination as bandleader for Jazz Album of the Year (Group) for the album, Gravity, from the Jeremy Ledbetter Trio.
He joined Laura Fernandez on Café Latino earlier this month to chat about his musical upbringing, studying music in Trinidad and Cuba and his excitement on receiving his first JUNO nomination. Fellow trio member Larnell Lewis is also nominated for a JUNO for Jazz Album of the Year (Solo) for his album, Slice of Life.
Tune into Café Latino with Laura Fernandez every Saturday at 4PM EST on jazz.fm91. The 54th Annual JUNO Awards takes place on Sunday, March 30 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver. Hosted by Michael Bublé, the award show will be broadcast live Sunday at 8PM EST on CBC.
