Every great artist begins with talent and vision. Every successful career begins with opportunity. This November, JAZZ.FM91 celebrates 20 years of showcasing talent and vision while creating opportunities for the next generation of Canadian jazz artists with their signature program: Jazzology.

Created in 2006 by JAZZ.FM91 founding host, the late Larry Green, the program was established to promote and support the next generation of Canadian jazz artists. In the 20 years since its initial broadcast, Jazzology has introduced audiences to countless emerging jazz artists, helping to share their stories and their music.

Participating schools over the years, having included Humber College, University of Toronto, York University, Mohawk College, University of Western Ontario, and Wilfred Laurier University – institutions that featured Jazz Studies or Contemporary Music programs. Each week, participating students are featured in an hour-long program in which the young musicians share their stories, influences, and the music that inspired them – as well as some of their own recordings – allowing audiences to discover next generation of Canadian jazz artists.
