In the midst of what can only be called challenging times, we hope you are staying safe and well.

We are approaching the end of our fiscal year on Aug. 31, and we are hoping you will show your support so we may continue the responsible path to recovery by delivering the music and programming that you value most.

Life has thrown us all a major curve ball, so we want to let you know how JAZZ.FM91 has adjusted to the circumstances.

As many of you know, we took the immediate decision in mid-March to suspend our scheduled on-air spring fundraising campaign. We knew that maintaining our regular programming and being there for you throughout this difficult time was and remains our primary responsibility.

At the end of June, we did go to air with a fundraising campaign unlike any other in our history, and were awed and humbled by the generosity of our listeners. We offered no “incentives” — no trips, no concerts or other experiences. Just the great music and broadcasting you have come to expect and rely on. As we all need to adjust to the times, we did so by bringing live music to the airwaves during the campaign, and from that experiment we continue to do so this summer through a new partnership with the TD Toronto Jazz Festival and the incredible musical talent in our community.

These times require innovative solutions for us to progress toward recovery. We will slowly and responsibly get back to bringing you live music and experiences in all their forms. We are also preparing for the “new normal” to continue delivering our important community programs such as the JAZZ.FM91 Youth Big Band and Jazz 4 Kids.

However, none of this can happen without your support.

As this extremely and unexpectedly challenging fiscal year draws to a close, we ask that you join us in meeting these challenges. We will always be there for you, and so we ask that you show your support to ensure a bright future for this unique and indispensable broadcast voice in Canada and around the world. This is the time we need you most.
