JAZZ.FM91 today announced that Catherine Mitro has stepped down as Chair of the station. Peter von Schilling, currently Vice Chair, has been appointed by the Board of Directors to take over from Ms. Mitro. Marc Paris and Thompson Egbo-Egbo, also directors, have been appointed Vice Chairs.
Serving as Chair since March 31, 2022, and Vice Chair since February, 2019, Catherine Mitro will continue to serve as a director, lending her expertise in music education and artist outreach.
“I have truly enjoyed the opportunity to serve JAZZ.FM91 as Chair of the Board of Directors and to work closely with the strong leadership and vision of Dana Wigle, General Manager,” said Ms. Mitro. “Exciting things are unfolding at the station and I am confident that, under the leadership of Mr. Peter von Schilling, the Board will continue to fulfill its obligations to JAZZ.FM91’s staff, donors, artists and listeners.”
Mr. von Schilling is an experienced leader, active corporate director and former investment management professional. He serves on a number of private and not-for-profit boards. He holds an MBA from INSEAD, a B. Math (Honours) from the University of Waterloo, and the Institute of Corporate Directors ICD.D designation.

Dana Wigle, General Manager of JAZZ.FM91, said she looks forward to working with the new Chair and continuing to engage with the Board of Directors.
