JAZZ.FM91 statement and information on COVID-19

Dear JAZZ.FM91 listeners and supporters,

As a broadcaster and a presenter of public events, we at JAZZ.FM91 wanted to take a moment to address the issue of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The health and safety of our staff, volunteers and the listeners and supporters who attend our many events are of paramount concern to us at JAZZ.FM91.

While we are still open for business we have very few staff at the station, with some employees working remotely. We are also on reduced public office hours of 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Monday and Friday. We ask members of the public to visit our studios by appointment only. If you need to visit the JAZZ.FM91 studios, please call 416-595-0404 or email info@jazz.fm and we can make arrangements. We will update this space as this changes.

Our public events in the immediate future have been postponed in the interest of public safety. Currently these include:

  • Live to Air with David Clayton-Thomas – new date TBD
  • My Kinda Jazz: A Celebration of Jeff Healey – new date TBD
  • JAZZ LIVES 2020 – moved to June 4, 2020

All tickets already purchased for JAZZ LIVES will be honoured on the new date. If you have any questions regarding your tickets, please contact Koerner Hall’s box office at 416-408-0208. If you purchased tickets or donated to attend either of the other two events, we are reaching out to you directly and as the situation evolves we will make you aware of rescheduling through our website, direct contact and, of course, on the air.

Other events currently scheduled for the summer will be decided upon as the situation evolves and with public health and safety as the primary concern.

This is a rapidly changing situation and we ask for our listeners’ and supporters’ understanding and patience as we, along with everyone else, adapt to the situation and take appropriate action. Please watch for updates here on our website and on the air. If you are a ticket holder for an upcoming event, please wait to hear from us. Otherwise, please feel free to contact us at info@jazz.fm or 416-595-0404.

We remain dedicated to providing the highest quality standards of broadcasting during this period. Radio has always been the primary means of communication—  and, yes, entertaining diversion — during troubling times. We promise to fulfill our obligation in regard to our listeners and the broader public.
