Born in Ottawa and raised in 1970’s Scarborough, Mr. Chalmers’ upbringing was straight out of Wayne’s World. Greb Kodiaks, anyone?
But it was a passion for the world of radio that led to a broadcasting career spanning more than four decades. With tenures at Toronto’s Q107, AM640 THE HOG, 92.5 JACK-FM, boom 97.3, Hamilton’s Y95 and Ottawa’s Y105, Jeff has been connecting with listeners and engaging with musical artists since the late seventies. His love of jazz stems from a variety of influences including eavesdropping on the legendary champion of jazz in Canada, Hal Hill, delivering his radio show from the studio down the hall.
An urban farmer who keeps chickens, Jeff grows the world’s hottest peppers, is a collector of vinyl and vintage electronics, fancies himself an enthusiastic amateur photographer, enjoys sailing Lake Ontario, and needs to spend more time riding his bike.
