Heather Bambrick of JAZZ.FM91 is the winner of the Broadcast Dialogue award for best on-air host.
Bambrick won the category of best on-air host for a music radio station in a major market, thanks to her lively and inspiring presence on The Heather Bambrick Show weekday mornings.
The award goes to an individual or team who displays “an outstanding ability to engage, inform and entertain their target audience, judged on originality, presentation, and co-host synergy, as well as community involvement and ability to convey station brand and identity.”
Bambrick has been a well-loved voice at JAZZ.FM91 for more than 15 years, hosting a variety of shows. She is currently the host of Jazzology and The Heather Bambrick Show.
“This might mark the first time I’m at a loss for words,” she said. “I was shocked — in the very best way — to learn of this honour. To be singled out in this manner is undeniably special, but this award would not be possible in any way without the supportive environment created by the outstanding team at JAZZ.FM91. It’s a team made up of not only tremendous fellow hosts but also a tireless and dedicated group of individuals working behind the scenes, and a wonderful Board of Directors. And, of course, there are the listeners, who keep us going with their loyalty (and donations) and have become — in many instances — friends along the way. I’m humbled, honoured, and grateful.”
“Heather is a gifted storyteller,” said Dana Wigle, General Manager of JAZZ.FM91. “She wears her heart and her passion right there on her sleeve and you can hear it in the way she engages our listeners — they are friends and family. On behalf of the entire JAZZ.FM91 community, congratulations Heather and thank you for sharing your spirit with all of us.”
