Flato Markham Theatre has revealed the lineup for its upcoming Diamond Season for 2023-24, with performances by Laila Biali, the Manhattan Transfer, Emilie-Claire Barlow and many more.
With several dozen concerts planned, the new concert season features touring theatre productions, world premieres, award-winning musicians, comedy, magic, dance, jazz, rock ‘n’ roll and holiday classics.
On Thursday, Sept. 28, Sultans of String open the season by teaming up with award-winning First Nations, Métis and Inuit artists for the musical multimedia experience Walking Through the Fire.
On Wednesday, Oct. 18, Hiromi presents her new album sonicwonder, featuring an electrified four-piece band that includes Adam O’Farrill on trumpet, Hadrien Feraud on bass, and Gene Coye on drums.
On Saturday, Dec. 2, the Manhattan Transfer bring their 50th anniversary celebrations to the Greater Toronto Area, showcasing the unique sound and incredible talent that has earned the quartet 21 Grammy nominations and 10 wins and an induction into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
On Saturday, Jan. 27, Emilie-Claire Barlow celebrates her new album Spark Bird following a sold-out week at Markham’s Jazzlicious WinterFest.
On Thursday, Feb. 8, Laila Biali, Dominique Fils-Aimé and Sammy Jackson team up for Jazz Divas, a one-of-a-kind collaboration between the three incredible Canadian jazz singer-songwriters.
Some of Flato Markham Theatre’s other performances this season include Burton Cummings, Blue Rodeo, Howie Mandel, Brass Transit, Ben Heppner, Jeanick Fournier, the Celtic Tenors, Kiran Ahluwalia and Matthew Whitaker.
