For over 50 years, Marcus Miller’s influence on modern-day music has touched everything jazz, funk, R&B, pop and more. He has worked with everyone from Miles Davis to Michael Jackson to David Sanborn to Beyonce and has appeared on over 500 recordings and counting. Most notably, the Brooklyn-born bass player and singer was the songwriting and producer partner of fellow New Yorker Luther Vandross for 15 years. He’s produced close to 30 film scores including House Party, Boomerang and Think Like A Man. There’s not one song that Marcus Miller hasn’t touched that most people haven’t heard.

As a solo artist, Miller has released 18 studio albums, including four live albums and is one of the most in-demand session musicians in the industry. This Saturday March 15, he’ll be performing at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre in St. Catharines as part of Bravo Niagara’s Voices of Freedom 10th Anniversary.

Miller joined Brad Barker on Afternoon Drive this week to speak about his musical upbringing, career highlights and how he stays true to himself and his artistry in a social media world.
