Evan Little is a young jazz pianist best known for his modern
interpretations of jazz standards. He was inspired at an early age by Canadian jazz greats Peter Appleyard and Dave McMurdo, who often played at local events and encouraged his love of music. Evan began his formal study of jazz piano under John McLelland and has continued his studies under Mark Eisenman. He has also studied under Kelly Jefferson and Jim Vivian. Evan has performed at Guelph’s Hillside Inside Festival, the Eden Mills Writers and Art Festivals, clubs in the Toronto area including Lula Lounge and Gate 403, and the Rex Hotel as well as private parties and events. He is currently enrolled at York University in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program studying jazz performance where he has been awarded the prestigious Oscar Peterson Jazz Performance Scholarship and the Douglas Menzie Phillips Jazz Scholarship for Outstanding Instrumental Performance.
