Elona Oraha is a Toronto-based vocalist currently studying at York University. Her love for music started early with her mother’s CD collection, where she was introduced to various vocalists like Frank Sinatra, Amy Winehouse, and Fairuz. Under the mentorship of vocalists Sherri Marshall and Sacha Williamson, Elona finds her musicianship evolving and developing, combining other genres with her jazz foundation. Coming from a theatre background, she prioritizes wit and intention in her performances. Elona hopes to further incorporate her diverse influences – including elements of her Assyrian heritage – into her personal projects. You can find her performing at venues across the city like Reid’s Distillery or the Emmet Ray, or at various events singing with the Toronto All-Star Big Band.
