Duncan Wilson is a Toronto-based pianist rooted in the bebop tradition. Born and raised in Orillia, Ontario, Duncan currently studies jazz performance at the University of Toronto, where his teachers have included Chris Donnelly, Hannah Barstow, Mike Murley, and Kelly Jefferson. In addition to a solo piano residency at the Jazz Bistro, Duncan has performed at many renowned venues across Toronto and Ontario, including The Rex, The Emmet Ray, The Jazz Room (Waterloo), the Kensington Market Jazz Festival, The TD Niagara Jazz Festival, and The River Run Centre (Guelph). His rapidly accelerating career has led him to share the bandstand with notable Canadian jazz artists such as Luis Deniz, Geneviève Marantette, Ted Warren, and Juliet Dunn. Duncan’s artistic influences include Kenny Barron, Bud Powell, Oscar Peterson, and Hank Jones.
