Chris Potter to release new live album Got the Keys to the Kingdom

Saxophonist Chris Potter teams up with an energetic quartet on his latest recording Got the Keys to the Kingdom.
Potter is joined by pianist Craig Taborn, bassist Scott Colley and drummer Marcus Gilmore for this six-song set recorded live at the Village Vanguard in New York.
The final cut from the group’s multi-night residency includes reimagined folk tunes (“Nozani Na” and “Olha Maria”), powerful spirituals (“Got the Keys to the Kingdom”) and deep-cut jazz classics (“Blood Count” and “Klactoveedsedstene”).

One of the leading saxophonists in contemporary jazz, Potter has released more than 20 albums as a leader and has performed as a session player on more than 100 recordings. He won a Grammy Award in 2013 for the album Unity Band with Pat Metheny; he’s received a total of nine Grammy nominations.
